Make God Your Dream Partner

10 Jan

In the past few months, I have developed more focus and clarity than ever before in my life. Two new habits have contributed to this. One is my habit of journaling by hand during my sacred time in my sacred place. And the other is asking this Focusing Question,

LORD, what is ONE Thing I can do today that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?

I encourage you to ask God that question each morning and write down in a journal what you hear. I think you will be amazed at what happens.

Last night I went to bed quite late, yet God used Maui, our dog and my “God alarm clock,” to wake me up early this morning to speak to me. After getting up, I immediately went to my sacred place for my sacred time. I prayed on my knees for 1-2 minutes before sitting down to journal by hand the many inspired thoughts the LORD was downloading to me. After that, I read Chapter 10 of Proverbs. The very first verse I read (Proverbs 10:16) jumped out at me. So did many of the other verses in that chapter. It was the greatest understanding of Proverbs I have ever had.

When I came to my office computer to work, I quickly skimmed through my emails. When I saw Dr. Mike Murdock’s email titled “Make God Your Dream Partner,” that grabbed my attention so I opened and read it. After doing so, I felt prompted to share that with you. After all, we exist to serve by “Empowering Dreams.” Enjoy.

Make God Your Dream Partner

Note: On January 12, one of my friends emailed me questioning the validity of Dr. Murdock’s statement, “The Holy Spirit responds to words, not your thoughts.” I’m in agreement with my friend that while the spoken word has more power than thoughts, the Holy Spirit is still able to hear and respond to our thoughts. That is a form of prayer.

Blessings to make God your dream partner!
